Time Attack 2009 – The Results

Robin Duxbury – Cyber EVO

Rollercoaster – Is probably the best description of our competition season at Trackitve.

Two weeks before the start of the season our involvement with Time Attack was only as Engine tuners to a few competitors but that all changed before round 1 at Oulton Park when we teamed up with Robin Duxbury and his stunning Redbrick Racing Cyber EVO. Many of you will no doubt be aware of the events of last season but a problem at the last round at Snetterton couldnt take the shine off a season that resulted in 3 Super Battle wins out of 5 events and 2nd overal in Club Pro, Not bad for a new car and a driver who had never driven on a circuit before 2009!

Jonathan Beach – Impreza Sti

Running in Club Class against many high powered cars Jonathan produced a series of Giant killing performances to finish the season in 3rd place in the Club category. The ongoing developemnt of the car and on event support prived by Chevron Motorsport was an essential part of the package but what makes this result all the more amazing is that the car ran all season on a STANDARD FACTORY Subaru engine and gearbox. Testement indeed to the drivers mechanical sypathy and the the inteligent approach to exracting the best potential from the package by Chevron and Tracktive Solutions.

Paul Cowland – Golf Gti

By far the easiest race car we look after the little Golf just keeps on going like the energizer bunny with minimal upkeep, this really has proved to be a true budget race car. However as with every racing driver they always want more and being fair to Paul he was already putting in some amazing performances for a car with only 92 BHP !. So for 2009 a new engine was on the cards but with problems with parts and other work the new engine only made the grid towards the end of the season for Oulton Park.

The first ever non finish for the car in the first race after the 30 year old heater matrix deposited its contents on the Drivers feet whilst on the Grid left him alot to do for the second race. Starting from the Back of the grid Paul manged 11th Overall, fastest lap for his class and narrowly missed out on the class win finishing only a few yards behind the class winner. Certainly left us wondering what he will be able to achive next season now he has double the Golf’s original 92 BHP!
